Meet the maker

In 1996, a cabinetmaker named Russell Duke followed the rhythm of two lifelong passions, woodworking and drumming. With hands trained in precision and a heart tuned to music, he set out to build something more than an instrument. That moment marked the beginning of Bridget Drums.

From the very first bodhrán, Russell’s focus has remained unchanged: to craft professional,performance-ready drums in Canada and share them with players around the world. No two drums are ever the same, because no two players are. Each bodhrán is shaped, tuned, and finished to reflect the individuality, style, and spirit of the musician who holds it.

Every Bridget Drum begins with carefully selected materials. The shells are formed from multi-layer, select-grade Northern Hard Rock Canadian Maple, chosen for its strength, resonance, and beauty. The tuning system is built from aircraft-grade, powder-coated aluminum for durability and precision. Each drum is finished with select-grade goat skin, either natural or chemically treated, ethically sourced as a by-product of the food industry and enhanced with a modern NANO spray treatment for consistency and longevity.

This is craftsmanship you can trust. Every drum is backed by a one-year warranty on workmanship and materials (drum head is not included), reflecting a commitment to quality that goes far beyond the workshop.

At Bridget Drums, tradition meets innovation, one handcrafted rhythm at a time.
